LOCATION: East Denver, contact us specifically for major cross streets
ABOUT THE KIDS: Two little guys, 4 years old and 9 months old
HOURS NEEDED: Guaranteed 40 hours per week. The family needs care 4 days per week on weekdays only; 7:30 am to 5:30 pm.
PAY RATE: $18 to $22 per hour; taxes are withheld.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES: In the event the nanny is caring for both boys, additional duties are very limited. The nanny will be primarily responsible for child-related tasks, i.e. boys’ laundry, washing bottles, disinfecting toys, tidying up after the days’ activities, planning and preparing their meals etc. When able, nanny should be willing to assist family as necessary in light household chores such as straightening up kitchen and additional tasks as time permits.
WHAT THEY ARE LOOKING FOR: These loving, attentive and dedicated parents are looking for a long-term commitment with a nanny to start as soon as possible. The oldest child has Type 1 Diabetes and although the family tries to encourage the most normal life as possible, the diagnosis adds to a typical days’ structure. Due to the specialized level of knowledge needed to care for a diabetic child, the parents are looking for a nanny who has cared for someone with diabetes or a nanny who has previously worked within a healthcare related field and understands the extensive nature of the disease. After the diagnosis, Mom and Dad rearranged their schedule so one of them can be at home at all times. With their current nanny, Mom and Dad often care for one of the boys and the nanny is responsible for the other. Hopefully, in the future, the nanny can care for both children once everyone is comfortable. At this time, the oldest goes to a nearby preschool 4 days per week for a few hours in the morning. The preschool follows a DPS schedule therefore will have several days out of school and a full summer break. The perfect nanny is someone who is mature, professional, active, engaged, trustworthy, punctual, detail oriented and patient. As can be imagined, this family has been through a significant change since their son’s diagnosis. For this reason, they are in need of a nanny who can truly offer full-family support. Someone who is empathetic and compassionate towards their situation; someone who is helpful and willing to take initiative throughout the day. The nanny must be communicative throughout the entire day and be proactive with ways to help support the whole family. It is a huge plus if the nanny has had experience managing diabetes, but not required. The family is willing to teach and train the nanny how to care for their son.
COMMENTS: A safe and reliable vehicle to use on the job is preferred. The nanny must be current on vaccinations including an annual flu shot. Paid time off is offered. If the nanny helps with transportation to and/or from school, mileage will be reimbursed.Click here to apply
